Hand dyed fabric

Hand dyed materials such as fabric and threads are essential for our needlework experience!

I remember the times all I know was nice quality of Zweigart monochromatic fabric in white, light blue, antique white, creme, ivory, blue spruce, sand and peach colors. And oh yes sometimes Mocha color was sold in the shop as alternative to everything seen before 🙂 I was thrilled when I sold my first bright Zweigart but it took me a fortune to explain to the lady that her design will perfectly fit on that color.

So the times passed and I, as a shop owner, discovered so many different opportunities for me and my lovely stitchers in hand dyed fabrics! Different companies, different names, different stitch counts and sizes- I think I sold tons and tons of them (I forgot to keep track on shipping weight lol). Fabrics for Mirabilia’s mermaids, primitives and fabrics “just to keep in stash”, fabrics from Europe and USA…I got them all through those 13 years of my shop business.

Times changed little bit with pandemic and some companies refused to dye fabric as they were experiencing troubles of getting almost everything from manufacturers. Now we see an opposite thing- a lot of new companies were born and we definitely see this diversity and yes we love it.

We decided to make our preferred hand dyed small business company Wrinkled Fabrics since they are NYC local and have this artistic vision for almost everything we ask for. They have Organica line which is perfect solution for fantastic antique reproduction samplers, bright line for Halloween and such designs and other colors as well. You can meet them here at their official website or in our shop. Have fun browsing and asking for specific color that you feel you would like to have in your collection.

Plus we also have Monthly Fabric clubs for different purposes and counts, so be sure to check them out here. Special fun to see their names for the fabrics! Where else can you find “Definitely Biscotti”, “This is my wine” or “Sad Cloud”?

Thank you for your interest in our shop, we try to post more creative ideas.
